Democrats Need to Hit the Reset Button If They Want to Win.

Joe Biden has said it himself. He's a mainstream Democrat; he's not Bernie Sanders. That's true. Bernie Sanders is a left-wing progressive who supports marijuana legalization and understands that we need to end the federal prohibition of cannabis via executive order. Bernie Sanders supports Medicare for All, and Joe Biden favors our current status quo broken healthcare system.

The progressive movement has a unique opportunity to point out their differences in local elections in the upcoming midterms. Biden doesn't have a winning message to run on. Joe Biden's approvals are at a record low, but the left can come out on top if we effectively highlight and communicate the apparent differences between progressive and establishment democrats to voters. It's a verifiable fact Bernie Sanders has a higher approval rating than the sitting president among the American public. Progressives are for universal healthcare during a pandemic. Medicare for all means healthcare during a pandemic that is killing over 2000 people per week. Union activity has been increasing. With movements like The Great Resignation, we have seen low-wage workers rise up like never before. We need elected progressives who champion unionization. We have witnessed union-busting efforts from Amazon, which pays less than most secretaries or nursing assistants each year in taxes.

We need elected leaders that support in-home care in rural areas where often there are minimal health resources for residents. Many people in rural areas do not trust medical professionals. Building relationships by providing convenient healthcare to medicare and Medicaid patients having a mobile healthcare solution means that healthcare providers that can come to them are crucial to approach any effective incentive. Over time, it opens their minds to try new things such as vaccination. We need to make sure that we are paying our home healthcare workers a wage they can live on constantly; in-home healthcare workers often work long hours hurt their backs from lifting patients, which can cause health issues later on in life. Many of these workers do not have good benefits such as 401K options.

The progressive left-wing movement must be apparent that they support marijuana legalization. Marijuana legalization is a majority approval issue with nearly 70% adult support. There is one progressive candidate, Gary Chambers Jr., running for the Senate of Louisiana. He released an ad called 37 Seconds; he can tangibly capitalize on it because of the issue's popularity.

It's a much better approach in comparison to blowing up cars with socialism written on it. The progressive Gary Chambers takes a shock value approach and uses the time to call out injustices such as that black men are four times more likely to be arrested for weed possession. Gary points out that marijuana accounts for half of all drug arrests. He's unapologetically pro-cannabis.

We need that energy, especially when the legal cannabis sales for both recreation and medicinal is estimated to reach $43 Billion in sales, which means cannabis jobs, funding for education, and employing cannabis experts that can assist American adults with safe medicinal alternatives.
