Democrats Can Learn From Disney's The Pied Piper (1933).

Disney + has been big for me, I've officially finished watching the Mandalorian series in search of finding something else I came across an old cartoon, one of those 7 minute Disney classics from way back in the technicolor days. Upon watching this old cartoon I didn't think too much about it other then enjoying the style and the voice acting, particularly for this type of cartoon given how ancient it is. If I fast forward to some of the hard losses that the progressive movement had on super Tuesday II. I've come to the conclusion after thinking long and hard that it wasn't to all that bad in reality, it's a very competitive race, sure but there are plenty of silver linings at play here. Bernie sanders preforms well among younger voters, a key demographic that rarely votes and on the other hand Biden gets voters that are older and regularly vote.

Today if you look at CNN and MSNBC believe it or not there are some pundits that are coming to grips with the fact that Biden would need young voters in order to have any real chance at defeating Donald Trump. Upon watching the narrative shift slightly to pundits realizing they need many of Sander's loyal followers I couldn't help but think of the Tale of the Pied Piper. A  story of a pipe player who drove the rats away from the kingdom of Hamelein with his beautiful music (issues) and then once he completed his quest he was awarded just one coin for his hard work, the people of Hamelein laughed at him for being tricked into doing good for the kingdom, as a result The Pied Piper grew furious and played a tune so sweet (Policy proposals) that it attracted all of the kids (Young voters) into dropping the chores they were doing and following the tune.

There is most certainly a lesson here for democrats of the party, without the youth voters you cannot win. When older people vote against our interest in issues like saving the world from climate change, legalizing marijuana and expunging all records, medicare for all, Clean water act, Tuition free public college. They cannot expect us to fall in line with a candidate like Joe Biden who has carried many bad tunes  saying marijuana is a gateway drug, saying that he doesn't support The Green New Deal, He has a D- grade from the a climate activist group Sunrise.  Joe Biden is a candidate that said he would veto Medicare for all and he is a candidate with the baggage of trying to cut Medicaid, Medicare, VA benefits and other social safety net programs that are designed to help the poor the elderly and the disabled. Joe Biden hates Young People, he hates old people and he hates poor people. Joe's actions in the senate have been clear he's not a friend to the American people.

The moral of the story here democrats is you should listen to your kids, listen to the youth, listen to the young adults in your life they are the ones that will inherit this planet. Fight for the issues that they care about. If you want to leave your kid something meaningful to inherit when you pass on my suggestion is the hope that they can have a sustainable planet to live on, feel less stressed out about an education, not be burdened down by Medical debt or student loan debt. That much you owe them!

Leafly/Trainwreck Today people are still being arrested and given records for a plant that is now legal in 11 states and 33 states for medicinal use as of June 2020. People that are detained in states where it is illegal are sometimes thrown in jail, fined, and given a record. It's almost as if it's their goal is to humiliate people for getting caught with a herb that grows on Mother Earth, naturally. Marijuana Legalization is About Healthcare and Recreational Freedom

Something that has been proven to be less addictive than coffee . Democrats Need to Hit the Reset Button If They Want to Win.

     Joe Biden has said it himself. He's a mainstream Democrat; he's not Bernie Sanders . That's true. Bernie Sanders is a left-wing progressive who supports marijuana legalization and understands that we need to end the federal prohibition of cannabis via executive order. Bernie Sanders supports Medicare for All, and Joe Biden favors our current status quo broken healthcare system.  The progressive movement has a unique opportunity to point out their differences in local elections in the upcoming midterms. Biden doesn't have a winning message to run on. Joe Biden's approvals are at a record low , but the left can come out on top if we effectively highlight and communicate the apparent differences between progressive and establishment democrats to voters. It's a verifiable fact Bernie Sanders has a higher approval rating than the sitting president among the American public.
